Custom-Engineered Transfer Chutes: Making the Most of Your Material Flow

Your plant likely has its own material handling challenges and demands. In particular, if inefficient mechanical conveying ever becomes an issue, it can result in a lot of extra maintenance, troublesome pluggage, spillage, and fugitive dust emissions, and potential damage from loading impact. All of this creates mounting O&M costs while raising risk and wearing down your equipment.

A production solution that works for one plant may not work for yours. This is why Benetech approaches each transfer chute and load-zone issue with great curiosity, flexibility, and creativity. We want to get to the bottom of how Benetech can enhance your material handling procedures for greater efficiency and profitability.

Benetech’s material handling specialists can pinpoint the problem and provide the solution specific to you if you are struggling with your conveying system.

Flow Control Chutes

A frequent cause of mechanical-conveyance inefficiencies is old, worn transfer chutes. Many of them also were not engineered for containment and so do not control material flow.

If Benetech’s engineers identify a problem with your old, original equipment chutes, we will use our state-of-the-art Discrete Element Modeling (DEM) analysis to evaluate and optimize each material handling transfer point design as well as the system’s flow and impact patterns to give you a truly engineered flow control chute. This process produces a chute design that will anticipate and correct your potential material flow issues well before they become unexpected costs and delays later on.

Our advanced transfer chute designs are a key component of our patented InteliFlo® load chute with the adjustable J-Glide® discharge. InteliFlo’s design actively helps prevent fugitive dust emissions rather than passively try to control them. With a distinctive round chute, it dramatically reduces build-up and spillage while maximizing material flow.

The patented J-Glide® allows for adjustable, vertical loading for various fuel types and environmental conditions by changing material speed through the transfer. Adjustable horizontal loading also works to ensure improved center loading of the belt.

With your tailored design established, our expert Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) team will fabricate, install and test your custom-engineered transfer chutes to your exact requirements. As your dedicated partner, we will further provide you with start-up support and training in system inspection and operation.
